If you already have an account or service at the time of enrollment in points from National City or had such an account or service within 12 months prior to enrollment, you cannot get bonus points for that account or service other than your first qualifying purchase. Certain bonus points can only be earned once per points from National City account. In many cases, you earn bonus points only if you are the first-named signer on the account. Qualifying CheckCard and linked credit cards earn bonus points with the first qualifying purchase which includes any signature-based purchase, Internet purchase, phone or mail order purchase, or automatic bill payment made with an enrolled CheckCard or a linked credit card, which is processed through the Visa U.S.A. Inc. transaction processing system. Only National City credit cards that do not participate in another rewards program are eligible.
