Good news regarding this bonus: according to THIS thread at FW, you can open an account and receive the bonus regardless of where you live, provided that you're able to open an account with First Horizon Bank. As always, YMMV.

Bad news regarding this bonus: If you've opened a lot of new bank accounts recently, there is not a zero-chance that your application will be declined. First Horizon checks with ChexSystems prior to opening your account, and unfortunately, it doesn't do so until AFTER you verify your identity, AFTER you read thru all the T&C's, and AFTER you choose your method of funding the account.

Tried this from arizona and I got an online application error. Called customer service at FH and she said that the bonus does not apply to anybody outside the state of tennessee. Oh well.
